Harlequins race to revive City relationships

Last night Harlequins took another step forward in reviving its traditional relationships with the City of London business community when a team representing the club competed in the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay.
The Relay, which is now in its sixth year, attracts entries from City businesses and financial institutions, over 100 teams took part in last night's event.
Ten man teams race around a chaotic, mile long circuit through narrow alleyways, up and down staircases, starting and finishing in historic Guildhall Square.
For a change the Harlequins team wasn't made up of rugby players! Ten male and female members of the club's administration and commercial staff took up the challenge of running round the City's streets averaging just over seven minutes each for the circuit. An all male team from Barclays Bank were the winners in an average time of just over five minutes.
The Harlequins team was: Joanna Debs, David Ellis, Martin Fallon, Gareth Harkin, Bertie James, Rebecca Metcalfe, James Newbigin, Callum Sheppard, Natasha Wake and Richard Varney.
