Ascot Underwriting is supporting former Harlequins captain Will Skinner with an internship as part of the club's Player Development Programme.
Over the coming 12 months he will spend two days a month working with several teams across the company to gain a broad range of experience in an underwriting business. Starting with the Terrorism and Political Risk team, he will then move on to the Specie & Fine Art and Property teams, learning about the specific considerations in those areas and observing as they write business at Lloyd's of London. In return Ascot will learn from Will as he shares his knowledge and the skills developed as a professional sportsman.
On the back of the relationship with Will Skinner, which focuses on supporting players after their playing career is over, Ascot Underwriting will now be Harlequins official Debenture Lounge Sponsor.
The deal, which runs for the 2012-13 season, focuses solely on the Debenture Lounge and further enhances the club's relations with the City of London.
Andrew Brooks, Chief Executive Officer of Ascot Underwriting said, "Ascot is delighted to be the official sponsor of the Harlequins Debenture Lounge. As a leading Syndicate at Lloyd's, Ascot shares Harlequins commitment to excellence and out-performing the competition, and we are proud to support the club's drive to be the best."
David Ellis, Chief Executive of Harlequins commented: "We are continually looking for ways to improve the service we offer our supporters as well as develop our commercial programme. Our partnership with Ascot Underwriting will enrich the provision within the Debenture Lounge and we look forward to working with them closely to deliver that."
