The J.P. Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s Cup took place at Old Reigations RFC on Saturday 18th May and was a day full of fast-running, thrilling rugby.
Roland Mercer
Half time: 9-3
The second half started as the first half ended, with Goode edging Worcester further into the lead with a penalty and drop goal (15-3). It was clear Worcester had a game plan; get up into Quins' faces and stop them playing. This was clearly working and Goode was punishing them every time.
It may have taken Quins a good 60 minutes to get into the game but the final 20 minutes saw the visitors show real spirit to fight back with 2 converted tries.
The first came from Sam Smith, who showed great pace to slip through the outstretched Worcester defence and weave his way over the try line and between the posts, which allowed Evans an easy conversion.
With the clock entering the final quarter, and Worcester camped on their own line, home flanker Jake Abbott was shown the yellow card by referee Chris White, and sustained pressure from the Quins pack resulted in a penalty try, which Evans duly converted, sealing a fourth win and keeping Quins at the top of the Premiership.
Final score: 15-17
