27 year-old Matt Hopper joined in 2011 from Championship side, Cornish Pirates. The centre previously spent a year in Australia after University, playing for Manley. Hopper made his first senior start against Gloucester in the Heineken Cup, scoring a try in the process. Hopper gained international recognition when he was called into the Saxons squad in early 2012, scoring a try against the Irish Wolfhounds.
