Supporting the Lord Mayor's Appeal Nick worked with a number of the traders across three floors to secure live deals with the profit made going to charity. All the traders were in fancy dress and there was a definite party atmosphere to the day as the celebrities made their way around the offices closing deals and promoting the cause.
Nick commented: "I've had an entertaining time here today. It's great to have a bit of fun with the traders and close a few deals, all in aid of charity, which is so important. It's such a good idea and I'm pleased to have been part of the day."
"On behalf of David Wootton and his Lord Mayor's Appeal 2012 we would like to say a massive thank you to Harlequins Rugby Club and Nick Easter for representing us at the ICAP Charity Day 2012. The Lord Mayor's Appeal 2012 will benefit significantly from the day, which last year raised £12million in total. We eagerly await news of this year's fundraising total.
"Yesterday, 100% of ICAP's revenue and 100% of the brokers' commissions went to their chosen charities. The Lord Mayor's Appeal 2012 was one of the lucky beneficiaries. The Appeal, 'Fit for the Future' supports five charities and strives to promote better health opportunities for all. The main beneficiary is Barts and The London Charity on behalf of the Trauma Unit at The Royal London Hospital. The money raised will fund a portable CT scanner and innovative research into trauma outcomes which will help to save many lives.
"Nick Easter was a huge hit on the day, closing many deals on the phones and helping to boost the fundraising total. The day was a great success and I'm sure Nick will agree, lots of fun too!"
The ICAP Charity Day was initially set up to make a significant difference to charities by donating all of their revenue and commissions made on one day each year. Last year they raised a record breaking £12.75m. This year over 63 offices worldwide are taking part in the initiative.
