The new League will give a chance for players within the Harlequins Elite Player Development Group (EPDG) to display their talents to Harlequins Academy staff against some of the best age group players across the country.

It is also likely that there will be opportunities for players currently outside Harlequins EPDG to be involved. Certainly those players currently involved in the Sussex and Surrey U18 teams will come under consideration for selection for these fixtures, as will other late developers who have come to the attention of Harlequins Academy coaches.

It will be a tough challenge for the young Harlequins with many of the other Academies basing their sides around the AASE colleges in their catchment areas who already play a competitive fixture list. For the Harlequins players it will be their first time playing a whole 15 a side game as a Harlequins team.

Hving this opportunity to assess the boys over the period of six matches against the other Academies should prove to be very valuable to the Harlequins Academy coaches.

Spectators are more than welcome to attend any of the fixtures and it is hoped that the final fixture will take place following the Harlequins 1^st XV Aviva Premiership fixture against Leicester Tigers at The Twickenham Stoop in Febraury.
