Winger Ellie Killdunne reacts to Quins' 31-66 win over Worcester Warriors
Harlequins Women’s Ellie Kildunne was delighted to score her first hat-trick for the Club but knows there are areas where the side can improve after leaving Sixways Stadium following a 31-66 win over Worcester Warriors Women.
“The first-half was a really tight contest," said Kildunne.
"But we had a strong word with each other in the changing room at half-time and we all pulled together after the break and managed to keep the momentum going and get on top of them throughout the second half.
“We have to give credit to Worcester Warriors especially with how they played over the first 40 minutes. They kept on coming and were finding and exploiting gaps through our defensive line and really put us under pressure at times. We knew we had to tighten up in the second half defensively and I felt we did that really well.
“Heading into next week we’ll be facing another strong side in Exeter Chiefs, so I feel we need to remain at the top of our game and work hard during the week to make sure we’re well prepared.”
It was as a special day for the electric winger who scored her first hat-trick for Harlequins in just her second game for the Club but Kildunne was full of praise for the rest of the team.
“It was a great feeling scoring three tries of course, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my teammates," she added.
"It helps that the space was there, but credit has to go to the rest of the side who were crucial in aiding me to find that open space allowing me to score.”
