This morning (Wednesday 30th July) Harlequins officially launched the 2014/15 season at the top of London’s iconic landmark, The View From The Shard.
The launch, held 244 metres above the capital’s streets at The View from The Shard, formally launched the new season’s kit with DHL and adidas.
With Harlequins squad members Chris Robshaw, Mike Brown, Joe Marler, Danny Care, Marland Yarde, Ugo Monye and Jordan Turner-Hall in attendance, it provided the perfect opportunity for the players to unveil the new home and away kit, designed and created by adidas and with DHL taking pride of place across the front of the shirt.
Speaking at the launch, Harlequins Chief Executive David Ellis said: “We are extremely proud to formally welcome both DHL and adidas to the Harlequins family.
“Having two globally iconic brands with us shows the ambition and potential of our great club and we are very excited to continue our excellent relationship with DHL, while beginning a new one with adidas.
“This is a truly remarkable proposition for all involved with Harlequins, DHL and adidas and we cannot wait for the season to officially begin next month.”
Phil Couchman CEO at DHL Express UK & Ireland commented: “As DHL’s own values are embedded in the qualities of teamwork, passion, and commitment, we’re delighted to partner with a club that is so aligned with us.
“As a leading brand in world rugby, we look forward to seeing Harlequins’ future success on a global scale.
"Backed by a worldwide network and years of practice on the global playing field, this partnership’s a perfect fit for DHL internationally.”
Nick Craggs, adidas Brand Director said: “We are excited to announce the new partnership with Harlequins - a rugby club steeped in tradition and outstanding achievement. We look forward to supporting Quins in the next chapter of their long and illustrious history.
“With the Rugby World Cup next year and the Club marking their 150th anniversary in 2016/2017, it is set to be an exciting time for rugby in the UK and we are proud to be part of that. At adidas, we pride ourselves on being a truly innovative sports brand, with the main aim of supporting our teams and our athletes with industry leading kit design and innovation to help them to perform to the best of their ability. We feel we achieved just that with the new Harlequins kit for the 2014/15 season.”
