Scarlets Scrum-half brought in to replace injured Mulchrone

Harlequins has signed Scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne on loan from Scarlets for the rest of the season.

The Club has brought in the Scottish international as cover for Charlie Mulchrone, who was last week ruled out for the rest of the season with a head injury sustained in Harlequins’ match against Gloucester Rugby.

Worcester Warriors’ Luke Baldwin had joined the Club only on a month’s loan to initially replace Mulchrone because he is cup-tied for Harlequins’ European Challenge Cup quarter-final at Sixways so Hidalgo-Clyne will now be at The Stoop for the remainder of the season.

Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “Sam is a fantastic Scrum-half and we are very pleased to have been able to get him on board with us for the remainder of the season.

“I know he has the personality and energy to fit in very quickly and easily into our squad and I look forward to him contributing as we look to end the season on a high.”

Cadan Murley says people forget how young the squad is at Quins and that there is so much more to come from this group of players.
