Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith has been named to start for England against the USA in Twickenham this Saturday, looking to make his international debut

Seven days after lifting the Gallagher Premiership trophy with Harlequins at Twickenham Stadium, Smith will return to the national side's home ground, trading the Quarters for the Rose, as England begin their Summer fixtures against the USA.

Smith will earn his first international Test cap this week, having previously played in an uncapped England XV fixture against the Barbarians.

Just 22, the fly-half is named amongst 12 upcapped members of the match day 23 as England play the USA for the first time since a pool encounter at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Commenting, England Head Coach Eddie Jones said: Jones said: “Over the past three weeks our biggest message to the players is what an opportunity this is to show what they can do and make their mark with England.

“They’ve applied themselves as a group and worked very hard individually during this camp to reach their personal bests.

“Now it’s all about coming together as a team, gelling and putting in a good performance at the weekend.”
